For many senior citizens, 60 and older, and disabled residents of any age, that own a home in Proviso Township, maintaining a safe and comfortable home can become a challenge as everyday wear and tear accumulates. We understand that minor home repairs, from a leaky faucet to a stubborn light fixture, can often be a source of frustration or even a safety concern. That's where Proviso Township’s Handyman Program steps in. Our Handyman Program is specifically designed to support our senior citizens and disabled residents.

What we offer

    • Blinds/Curtain Rods – Install/Repair 
    • Boxes (50lbs limit) 
    • Carpentry-Minor repairs i.e.: Replace loose/rotten boards 
    • Caulking - Minor interior only – No removal 
    • Ceiling Fans-Repair Switches Only 
    • Decks – Minor Repairs Only 
    • Doorbells – Repair/Replace Buttons 
    • Door Locks & Door Sweeps – Repair/Replace/Install

Frequently asked questions

  • Do you provide Lawn care or Snow removal?

    Proviso Handyman does not have lawn care or snow removal services. For assistance, please contact your village directly as this is a service they may provide.

  • Does the Proviso Handyman provide the necessary parts for the requested repair?

    For all repairs, the client is responsible for providing the necessary parts.  This ensures that you are getting a part in your preferred color, material and design.


  • Can I have a Handyman help me paint or clean my home?

    While we specialize in a range of handyman tasks, painting and cleaning are not among the services provided. We can provide you with a referral to help you with these more laborious tasks.


  • If a Handyman finishes their scheduled job fast, can I then have them perform additional fixes around the house?

    We perform one job per scheduled appointment.  If you need more than one fix in your home, we advise you to call our office, 708-547-4001, and schedule a few appointments during your call.


    The Handymen are in your home for 45 MINUTES OR LESS.  If the handyman finishes early, the Handyman will move on to the next appointment, this will help ensure they stay on schedule.


    Proviso Township is not responsible or liable for any damages, injury or loss resulting from the use of the services of a person or business referred by the Proviso Township Handyman Department.  The resident or homeowner accepts all liability from any damages, injury or loss caused by any person or business referred by the Proviso Township Handyman Department.   The contracting of services from a person or business referred by the Proviso Township Handyman Department in no way constitutes any form of contract, binding or unbinding, between Proviso Township and any other parties involved.  Please contact the service providers for information and be aware that the resident or homeowner is responsible for all payments and obligations to these service providers.
